Starting fresh with reconciliation in education

How do you plan for reconciliation in education, and ensure that your curriculum reflects the perspectives and histories of First Nations people and culture?

Our term 1 webinar will focus on starting the year fresh with new ideas and a focus on First Nations perspectives and histories in education. With guest speakers from AITSL and ACARA, you will have all the information you need to plan for reconciliation in education and to understand your professional responsibilities.

This session will support you to find resources to help embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures as well as thinking about how you can meet or maintain proficiency in the AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

Hear from Carly Jia from AITSL about the professional teaching standards and cultural competence for teachers.

Hear from ACARA about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures cross curriculum priority, and how you can embed this into your planning and teaching.

Hear from Natalie Gentle from Reconciliation SA about how the Narragunnawali: reconciliation in education platform can support you to bring all this together and understand how to plan for reconciliation in your school using the Narragunnawali platform and developing a Reconciliation Action Plan.

The webinar will be presented via zoom.
