Reconciliation in Education Webinar, 27th August 2020 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Teachers and students have found that learning about First Nation histories and cultures; and implementing reconciliation activities within the classroom adds value to individual and class learning.
Reconciliation SA in partnership with Reconciliation Australia’s Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education program are pleased to bring to schools across South Australia a webinar that supports educators to foster a high level of knowledge and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions. We are excited to be able to support schools and early learning services in South Australia to take action toward reconciliation in the classroom, around the school and with the community.
This workshop will provide local information, introduce you to professional learning and curriculum resources and the Reconciliation Action Plan process, to support a whole-school or service commitment to reconciliation. You will also hear first hand experiences from educators about how this opportunity and process of development a RAP can bring value to learning and the schooling community.
With special guests:
- Uncle Ivan Tiwu Copley, a proud descendent of Kaurna and Peramangk to provide the Welcome to Country
- Nathan May, Arabana (SA) and Yawuru (WA) man who will provide a special musical performance.
