Located on Angas Street in Adelaide, on Kaurna Country, the Worker’s Education Association (WEA) of South Australia started after a public meeting in Adelaide in 1913 and was founded based on a belief in second chances and the concept of lifelong learning.
WEA Adult Learning is now Australia’s largest non-government adult community learning organisation and offers affordable and accessible learning opportunities to all adult South Australians.
The WEA is always looking for new courses to add to our portfolio, and they are looking to diversify their curriculum by adding courses related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history, and languages.
There is no requirement for a formal teaching qualification, and no previous tutoring experience is required.
What the WEA does seek is Tutors with expert knowledge of their subject area, good communication skills and an enthusiasm to tutor and share knowledge with adults.
Tutoring with WEA:
As a tutor, you would be engaged as a contractor and will need an ABN. All bookings and payments will be handled by WEA, and your course will be promoted on our website, in weekly emails to our substantial student database, and in our course guide which is distributed in electronic and printed formats to thousands of potential students several times each year.
Best of all, WEA Tutors are involved in meaningful work which has a positive impact on the local community.
