Reconciliation Education Grants

The Reconciliation Education Grants program intends to support education sites in South Australia to fund exciting and innovative reconciliation projects.

Our Reconciliation Education Grants Program aims to enable education settings across South Australia to implement deliverables from the Narragunnawali Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) with a focus on connecting with First Nations community, and creating long term sustainable and transformative change. 

Grants are to support Education sector projects engaged with First Nations peoples or businesses to provide cultural education and learning.

Grants of $2000 are available per application and are open until 5th July 2024.

Eligibility 

To be eligible for the grant, you must be South Australian and one of the following:

  • State funded preschool, school or secondary school;
  • Association of Independent Schools SA preschool, school, or secondary school;
  • Catholic Education SA preschool, school, or secondary school;
  • Early Learning setting (early learning or long day care;
  • Out of School Hours Care setting.

Your application must also meet all of the following criteria:

  • Projects must engage and remunerate First Nations peoples or businesses to consult, deepen, or provide ongoing learning as part of the project.
  • Projects must engage the whole school community (e.g. not individual students or children).
  • Schools, Early Learning or OSHC sites must have a public Reconciliation Action Plan or be able to show clear steps on how this will be achieved during the duration of the project.
  • Projects will be assessed on their sustainability, longevity and transformational quality.
  • Capital works or the installation of required structures will not be approved (e.g. flag poles).

To apply, please download and fill in the application form below and send to admin@reconciliationsa.org.au by Friday 5th July 2024.

Include as much detail in the application as you can to give your application the best chance to succeed. 

If your application is successful, you will receive a written offer and enter into a grant agreement with Reconciliation SA. The grant agreement will specify acquittal dates and payment schedule.
