Reconciliation South Australia is pleased to announce our Annual National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day Artwork competition in partnership with the Department for Child Protection.

The Reconciliation SA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day Artwork Competition celebrates this year’s theme of:

Strong in Culture, Stronger Together

The competition consists of two categories –

A colouring in competition

Yorta Yorta illustrator, Karen Briggs, has created a beautiful piece for children to colour in that represents this year’s theme. This is aimed at younger children, between 0 and 8 years old.

An original artwork competition

The original artwork competition is where any age group from 5 to 18 years old can create a unique piece of artwork of what the theme “Strong in Culture, Stronger together” means to them. Artwork is subjective, so children and young people can submit paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, or digital media. We encourage artists to put together some words explaining their artwork.

All submissions to the colouring in competition and original artwork competition can be submitted by the 13th October at 5:00pm. Winners will be announced on International Children’s Day on the 23rd October.

To enter, simply send a scanned copy of your colouring in or artwork to natalie@reconciliationsa.org.au.

Please ensure that the artwork file is clearly labelled with the first name, last name, and age of the applicant.
