Building respectful relationships between Aboriginal people and the wider Australian community.
Reconciliation SA hosts our regular flagship events every year, Explore our past events, highlights, speakers and impact.
Each year, Reconciliation SA opens National Reconciliation Week by hosting the NRW Breakfast for Reconciliation. Now recognised as the largest reconciliation breakfast in Australia, our 2025 event brought together more than 3,000 attendees to reflect, connect and commit to reconciliation. The breakfast was headlined and featured by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and features a Smoking Ceremony, alongside a marketplace showcasing local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander–owned businesses. With a strong focus on unity, respect and shared progress, the event also proudly extended its reach to students in regional communities across South Australia through live streaming.

The 2024 NRW Breakfast, held on May 27, attracted over 2,800 attendees, underscoring the community's commitment to reconciliation. The event featured a keynote address by Yorta Yorta man and acclaimed artist Adam Briggs, who shared insights on justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The program also included performances by the Aboriginal hip-hop group DEM MOB and other local talents, enriching the cultural experience for attendees.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2024, "Now More Than Ever," served as a poignant reminder of the ongoing efforts required to achieve justice and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The breakfast provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, reflection, and a collective commitment to advancing reconciliation in Australia.
For those who could not attend, the event was broadcast on Channel 44 and made available on-demand through community TV streaming services, ensuring broader access to the important discussions and performances that took place.
