Cultural and psychological safety are integral for children and young people to thrive in the education system. 

Narragunnawali states that "Cultural responsiveness is an ongoing personal journey. All Australians should understand Australia’s true history and their own place, history and positionality in the racial structures that continue to operate in Australia today."

How can we do this in ways that are meaningful and effect real change in our educational settings?  

Education Consultant Natalie Gentle joined Dr Justine Grogan from AITSL to talk about Building a Culturally responsive teaching workforce.

The conversation was followed by a panel discussion on cultural responsiveness and cultural safety in education settings. Viewers learnt about Cultural responsiveness in education, and how to create education settings that are culturally safe, inclusive and welcoming for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
