Eskatology is a stage regular in the Australian hip-hop scene, especially on Kaurna country. But he's not just known for music, but for his deep commitment to community and cultural advocacy. Through powerful lyrics and collaborations, he has consistently used his platform to shine a light on important social issues while uplifting voices from diverse backgrounds. With a strong foundation in First Nations identity and activism, his music embodies resilience, truth-telling, and unity.
In January 2025, he released Never Give Up, a single featuring Schemer Don, an Afrobeat artist. The track delivers an uplifting message about perseverance and overcoming challenges, a theme that resonates with many. The music video, shot in Bowden and at the Women's and Children's Hospital car park, visually captures the song’s spirit of determination.
Another recent release features Erin Buku and takes on a more political tone. This track reflects Eskatology’s continued commitment to using music as a tool for raising awareness and fostering dialogue about global injustices. His performances at major cultural events, including Survival Day and Treaty Day Out, further demonstrate his dedication to amplifying First Nations voices. Although a scheduled performance on Kaurna land was rescheduled, Eskatology ensured his music was still heard in other meaningful spaces, showcasing his adaptability and commitment to the cause.
One of Eskatology’s most significant upcoming projects is Voices of Reconciliation, set to take place on March 28, 2025, at Nexus Arts. This marks the second edition of the event, which first debuted in collaboration with an art gallery. Voices of Reconciliation aims to bring together First Nations and non-Indigenous artists for a night of music, unity, and cultural exchange, creating an inclusive space where diverse audiences can come together in solidarity through the universal language of music.
This year’s lineup features Adrian Eagle, a soulful artist known for his uplifting sound and positive messages; Inquest, a Murray Bridge-based artist representing his mob through music; Lenny, a well-established name in the local music scene; Eskatology himself, delivering his signature blend of powerful storytelling and lyrical activism; and DJ Sam Paul, curating the beats for the night.
With free entry and an all-ages approach, the event is designed to be accessible and welcoming to all, with under-16s required to attend with a guardian.
Organising Voices of Reconciliation has been a personal mission for Eskatology. While his initial collaboration with the art gallery helped set the stage, this year’s event is largely self-driven. He has personally reached out to artists, secured venues, and handled promotion. His hands-on approach speaks volumes about his dedication; not just to his music but to the broader movement of reconciliation and social change.
Beyond music, Eskatology continues his work in Aboriginal education, recently stepping into a new role as an Aboriginal Cultural Education Officer at a high school. This role allows him to further connect with younger generations, fostering a deeper understanding of culture, identity, and resilience.
With Voices of Reconciliation fast approaching, this is an opportunity to experience an evening of music with a purpose. This event promises to be a powerful reminder of the role that art and culture play in healing, storytelling, and change.
