It recognises the role our First Nations have played ascustodians of the land, and are committed to listening, learning and havingrespectful conversations to care for Country.
AGIG’s partnership with Reconciliation SA is highly valued, including in the development of its first ‘Reflect’ Reconciliation Action Plan(RAP) in 2023, and as annual supporters of its Gala Dinner.
TheInnovate RAP focuses on creating stronger, more meaningful connections andpartnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples andstakeholders, with clear actions that reflect AGIG’s commitment to being asocially responsible business. The Innovate RAP sets out clear, actionablecommitments, including:
- Implementing a comprehensive engagement plan to support long-term, sustainable relationships.
- Identifying and enabling opportunities to positively influence external stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors.
To mark the launch of the Innovate RAP, AGIG hosted a nationalcelebratory event at their Adelaide office featuring:
- An official Welcome to Country from Jack Kanya Kudnuitya Buckskin, a Kaurna and Narungga man, founder of Kuma Kaaru, and leader of the Knowledge Project.
- Reflections from Yorta Yorta artist Karen Briggs, designer and advisor of the Innovate RAP and creator of AGIG’s “Our Connection to Country” artwork.

The event was well attended with AGIG personnel tuning inaround the country to celebrate the next step in the businesses journey to reconciliation.
The launch of the Innovate RAP marked another significant milestone forAGIG, building on the company’s earlier commitment in their first RAP, theReflect RAP, to “develop an understanding of the local Traditional Owners orCustodians of the lands and waters within our organisation’s operational area.”
In partnership with Winyama, a Supply Nation Certified, Indigenous-ownedand predominantly operated geospatial and cloud consultancy, AGIG developed theNgurra Portal. The portal provides valuable cultural and historical context forAGIG’s sites, supporting a deeper appreciation of the First Nations communitiesand lands where the company operates.

Ngurra means ‘home’, ‘country’, or ‘place of belonging’, and the NgurraPortal is now available to all employees as a foundational resource to furtherbuild AGIG’s understanding and relationships with Indigenous communities.
The work on the Ngurra Portal was also recognised at the 2025 EnergyClub WA awards with AGIG taking home the Energy Inclusion Award.
