During our second annual fundraising gala we launched our new logo, designed by Yorta Yorta woman Karen Briggs.
Karen spoke at the gala, to outline the meaning of the logo, representing the five dimensions of reconciliation in the following ways.
- Race Relations, the smaller pink dots represent the people
- Unity, a larger pink circle in the centre of the logo
- Equality and Equity, two arched shape swirls
- Institutional Integrity, is represented by the purple swirl on the top
- Historical Acceptance is the reddish circle with white dots surrounding unity
she also outlined that the black symbolic map represents South Australia's state, including the Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.
The colours within the logo design also have meaning. Pink represents the heart of Reconciliation, Purple represents recognition and speaking the truth, and the Red colour represents culture with Blue representing new life.
