Reconciliation SA is currently seeking expressions of interest for a new female Co-Chair to help lead the organisation’s strategic direction and continue driving meaningful social change across South Australia. This is an opportunity to take on a leadership role that blends governance with purpose, guiding a movement built on respect, truth-telling and genuine reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader community.
As outlined in the recently released Co-Chair role description, the position involves providing strategic oversight and leadership alongside the CEO and Board, fostering a culture that aligns with the organisation’s values, and representing Reconciliation SA to key partners, government and the wider community. The Board operates on a model of shared leadership, with one Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Co-Chair and one non-Indigenous Co-Chair, reflecting the organisation’s belief that reconciliation is a shared responsibility requiring partnership and mutual respect.
Reconciliation SA is looking for someone who brings both strategic insight and compassion. Someone who listens deeply, values collaboration and can influence change. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to reconciliation and cultural understanding, experience in governance or leadership, and the ability to navigate complex relationships with care and clarity. The role requires regular attendance at board meetings, strategic sessions and key community events, as well as active engagement with members and stakeholders.
This is not just a position on a board. It is a chance to help shape the future of reconciliation in South Australia. If you are passionate about social change, Reconciliation and contributing to a critical movement, Reconciliation SA would love to hear from you.
